I’m going to be honest here and tell you that there are a lot more boudoir photographers in the Hampton Roads area than there used to be! Once upon a time there were maybe three or four of us who primarily specialized in boudoir. But because boudoir has grown in popularity, more photographers are adding it to their portfolios. And I say, the more the merrier! But it can make it confusing when it’s time for you to find the right boudoir photographer. How do you know it’s a good fit? How do you know if the photographer has the experience needed to take amazing, flattering photos while making you feel comfortable?

Here are a few things that I think make the Curves Boudoir client experience stand out:

** A dedicated home boudoir studio – I am the only photographer that I’m aware of currently who shoots exclusively in my home studio. My clients tell me they love the privacy and the comfort level of coming to a home environment for their shoot. And I love being able to customize my furniture, space and decor any way I want because it’s all within my control!

** Experience, experience, experience! – I’ve been shooting boudoir since 2010 and I’ve photographed hundreds of amazing women. I also specialize in boudoir – about 75% of all of my work is boudoir sessions – so you know you are getting a seasoned pro.

** You see A LOT of images. LIKE A LOT! – The boudoir “industry” says photographers should only show about 30 images per session to their clients. And many Hampton Roads boudoir photographers follow a similar rule of thumb, showing around 30 to maybe 40 final images total. I learned long ago that I’m what we call an “overshooter!” I love taking photos – and I want you to see ALL of your amazing photos. So I don’t set a limit on the number of photos I’m going to share with you. In fact, you’ll have a MINIMUM of 50 images to choose from your session.

** You’ll see FINAL, FULLY RETOUCHED IMAGES! – I don’t know about you, but I don’t care to see my cellulite or bruises in my final images. Some local boudoir photogs will photograph a session, then send the client to lunch and have proofed images ready for the client to see after lunch. Listen, I admire that because it would save me hours of time. BUT, I don’t think that’s the best CLIENT experience. And I’m all about your client experience! I take about a week to complete your gallery – at which time you see fully retouched images. You shouldn’t have to guess what your final images are going to look like in an album, etc.

Complete privacy – It’s simple – your boudoir images are yours and you have complete control over who sees them. Sure, I love sharing client images. But you’ll never be pressured into signing a model release. I hear from my clients that there are boudoir photographers in the area who require a signed model release to even book a client. Not me. You may be asked about sharing images after you’ve seen your gallery – but whether images are shared and where they may be shared is a detailed conversation and always in your hands.

Makeup and Hair – your way! A lot of my clients want a classic, natural look for their makeup and hair. Yes, we want you to be camera ready, but no, that doesn’t have to mean you need a smoked out eye and crazy big hair. We love a smoky eye as much as the next boudoir photographer, but my makeup artists also specialize in creating flawless and natural makeup and hair that still looks and feels… well, like you!

Beauty and Boudoir – As you’ll see in the session featured with this post, I do a lot of combining beauty and boudoir sessions. This simply means that you can come with both lingerie and non-lingerie wardrobe choices and we can shoot both. In fact, if the weather is nice, we can shoot a portion of your session outside at a beautiful public space across the street from my home. It’s perfect for bringing a great dress for one of your outfits!

White Sheets – One of the things that’s remained consistent for me over the years is how much my clients LOVE their white sheet photos. These photos are classic, tasteful and never go out of style. You can also show as much – or as little – as you’d like. From semi-nude to fully covered, you have the option to include white sheet photos with your session.

Check out the featured session below and contact me to talk more about a session of your own!

** Client images used with full permission as always. Note this is also not all of her images – just a selection of them!
