I know you are probably combing through lots of boudoir photography galleries searching for ideas for your very own session! And I’m here to help – but this one requires making sure your photographer is thinking creatively!
Ladies, I have a secret….I am ALWAYS looking for new ways to use my Virginia Beach boudoir studio space. Okay, honestly that’s not a secret. Any good photographer is strategically thinking about how best to use their space. If you know artists, you know we get bored and need new inspiration. And that’s why I love this session. We found some new and creative poses – beginning with using my newest studio space in some creative ways. I love that she’s sitting on the dresser – it’s unexpected and sexy, too. And shooting from some funky angles allowed me to add my beautiful chandelier lamp in for some creative drama.
A word of advice when you’re looking for a boudoir photographer – find someone you’re certain you’ll be comfortable with and someone who shows variety on their website and blog. Look for photographers who show at least a few sessions where you see A LOT of the images from that session. Otherwise you’re sure to be seeing only the few shots from any given session that are spot on and then you’re left wondering what the rest of them look like. Yes, many times we (boudoir photogs!) will show anonymous shots from a session or only the few we’ve been given permission to share – and that’s perfectly normal. But at least a few sessions on the blog should really highlight how that photographer is using their space and the posing options in their catalog!
I want to thank this gorgeous client for coming back for a second session with me – 6 years after her first – and for allowing me to share her images. She is the embodiment of strength. She’s been through a great deal of loss and grief – I am so inspired by her journey to come back, to get a PhD and to pursue life fully and with so much love. <3
